Cancer Biomarkers

Clues About a Patient's Unique Cancer

Cancer biomarkers, which include genes, proteins and
other molecules are important because they impact
biological processes by which cancer cells proliferate.

Identifying clinically relevant and patient-specific
biomarkers can help guide more effective and targeted treatment.

More About Targeting Cancer

Targeting Cancer

Molecular Profiling to Identify Biomarker Targets

On average, only approximately 25% of patients respond to prescribed cancer therapies.

But biomarkers and molecular profiling are helping to improve the likelihood of response by targeting therapies.

Biomarkers provide clues about each patient's cancer and which treatments are more likely to fight it effectively. Armed with more information about their patient's molecularly distinct disease, doctors can recommend personalized treatment designed for maximum effectiveness.

Sophisticated, comprehensive molecular profiling identifies those biomarkers that are important for each cancer through a variety of tests including, immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), microarray analysis and DNA sequencing.

In a pilot study, treatment recommended by molecular profiling has been shown to increase progression-free survival among some patients.*

More about Caris Target Now™

Caris Target Now

Evidenced-Based Molecular Profiling Service

New biomarker discoveries are being made; however, it is already possible to apply the latest research to real-world cancer treatment. Many studies confirm that important biomarker targets are expressed in multiple cancer types.

Caris Target Now combines comprehensive molecular pathology and tumor profiling with an exhaustive evidence-based review of the latest clinical literature on biomarkers and their correlation to potential drug response in order to provide treating physicians with the information needed to personalize cancer therapy for their patients.

Each report contains the expression levels of relevant biomarkers, the drugs associated with response and those that are unlikely to be effective for that tumor.
